Major zoning ordinance revision is in its advanced stage of planning.  The Town is working on revising its zoning ordinances to reduce the recordkeeping burden and cost for complying with the Working Lands Initiative, a state statute requiring farmland preservation.

What Does a Zoning Revision Mean?

This revision will lead to a rezoning action initiated by the Town affecting a number of parcels.  The Plan Commission’s goal is to preserve all property rights held by the property owner under current zoning as land moves to the new zoning classification.

How Will I Know If I Am Affected?

Each property owner of an affected property will receive a letter and will have an opportunity to have their questions and concerns addressed.  A public hearing will also be scheduled in which more information will be presented and comments taken.
